Carpenter

We are expanding our team at Troup Custom Carpentry and looking for team members who are dedicated, upbeat, and have a strong pride in their work. We are on a mission to do residential construction better than anyone else.

Must Haves:

1. Must be proficient in measuring accurately, layout of footings, framing, and custom-built construction elements as well as use of precision tools like plumb and level lasers
2. Experience safely using all types of carpentry tools and equipment from demolition tools to nail guns, saws, drills, and heavy air and battery tools
3. Some experience with complex carpentry from roof, wall, floor, and stair framing all the way to finish trim both interior and exterior
4. Experience working with a crew in an efficient manner focusing on the division of labor by skill and ability
5. We expect our carpenters to think outside of the box and be able to solve complex problems with minimal supervision or guidance
6. Ability to carry out tasks from start-to-finish with instruction and minimal supervision
7. An eye for detail and finish quality work is a must for our client base
8. A team-oriented mindset. We are an all hands-on deck operation regardless of job title or level of experience
9. Must have your own hand tools: Belt equipped with speed square, chalk box, razor knife, hammer, nail puller, torpedo level, chisels. Powered hand tools a plus, not required.
10. Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation
11. Ability and willingness to lift up to 100lbs as needed or required by the job.
12. Experience with ladders/scaffold
13. Willingness to teach and guide others as a leader
14. Experience hooking up, pulling, and backing in trailers or heavy equipment is a plus!
15. If you have a truck that’s a plus!
16. If you have experience in other fields, that’s a plus!

Skills:

1. Proven experience as carpenter
2. Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
3. Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
4. Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
5. Ability to read technical documents and drawings
6. Willingness to follow safety guidelines
7. Good understanding of basic math
8. Good physical condition and endurance
